Enrolling In Enrichment Courses With Our Vendor Course Instructors (VCI's) Is A Simple Process.

Enrolling In Enrichment Courses With Our Vendor Course Instructors (VCI's) Is A Simple Process.

SVA has agreements with Vendor Course Instructors (VCI) to offer enrichment instruction in elective and core subject areas. Each student, with agreement from the assigned Teacher, has the opportunity to take advantage of courses offered by SVA VCI’s.
Process for Enrolling with a Vendor Course Instructor:

Process for Enrolling with a Vendor Course Instructor:

  • Parent completes a “Vendor Parent Acknowledgement Form” on ParentSquare.
  • Parents review the list of vendors and contact the vendor that they are interested in using for their student.
  • After the vendor is chosen, the parent needs to complete a “Vendor Request Form” which includes a signature from the chosen vendor, the parent, and the SVA teacher.
  • Once the “Vendor Request Form” has been completed, it must be turned in to the SVA teacher.
  • The teacher will send into the SVA Office and parents will receive email notification from the SVA office that the student may begin the vendor course.
  • Students must not begin using a vendor until they have verification from the SVA office that all paperwork has been completed. Fall Semester vendor requests must be turned in by the last day of Learning Period 2, and Spring Semester by the last day of Learning Period 6.
Important Information About the Use of Vendor Courses

Important Information About the Use of Vendor Courses

  • Participation in vendor courses is completely voluntary and is not required to complete the Shasta View Academy academic program.
  • SVA requires all vendors to complete a livescan fingerprint clearance prior to becoming a vendor.  However, the PARENT/GUARDIAN understands that all individuals who may have contact with his/her child while attending vendor classes and events, or going to/coming from vendor activities/classes/events may not have undergone a fingerprint clearance for a criminal background check.  The parent/guardian accepts full responsibility for the safety of his/her child.
  • Any classes/lessons student misses will not be paid for by SVA.  It is the parent's responsibility to find out the vendor’s policy on absences.  If a student misses two classes in a row, the contract with the vendor or vendors may be terminated.
  • SVA will only pay for vendor services from September through May (first day of instruction in September until the last day of school in May).
  • SVA will pay for up to $100/month of vendor activities per month.  Any amount over $100 per month owed to a vendor or vendors is the responsibility of the family.
  • Siblings may not “share” vendor monies.  For example, if one sibling is only using $80 of vendor funds, we cannot allocate the remaining $20 to a sibling’s vendor account.
  • Unused vendor activities will not be credited to the family for use in a future month or months, and will not be reimbursed to the family.
  • If the child has a gym membership through SVA (Sun Oaks, YMCA, etc.) they must attend a minimum of 4 times per month.  If the child does not attend the minimum amount of time, the membership will be canceled.
  • If a family cancels a vendor course before the semester is over, the student must wait until the new semester starts to begin a new vendor course.
  • Vendor enrollment and vendor changes can be made until the last day of Learning Period 2 in the Fall semester, and the last day of Learning Period 6 in the Spring semester.
