  • Desmos (4-12)-Desmos is an advanced graphing calculator implemented as a web application and a mobile application written in JavaScript. It was founded by Eli Luberoff, a math and physics double major from Yale University. They have fantastic math and critical thinking activities. (access via Clever)
  • Corbettmath- (K-12)This resource from England provides math videos, math practice questions, and worksheets with answers. 
  • Aaamath.com (TK-8)-AAA Math features a comprehensive set of thousands of interactive arithmetic lessons. Unlimited practice is available on each topic which allows thorough mastery of the concepts. A wide range of lessons (Kindergarten through eighth-grade level) enables learning or review to occur at each individual's current level.
  • Starfall.com (TK-3)-The program emphasizes exploration, play, and positive reinforcement—encouraging children to become confident and intrinsically motivated. Starfall is an educational alternative to other entertainment choices for children and is especially effective for special education, homeschooling, and English language development (ELD, ELL, ESL). It is widely used in schools that serve children with special needs and learning difficulties. (access via Clever, with teacher request)
  • Abcya.com (TK-6)- ABCya provides over 400 fun and educational games for grades PreK through 6. Their activities are designed by parents and educators, who understand that children learn better if they are having fun. Games are categorized by grade and subject.
  • Coolmath4kids.com (TK-6)- Coolmath4Kids is an amusement park of games, lessons, and more, designed to teach math and make it fun.
  • Factmonster.com (TK-8) -Fact Monster combines essential reference materials, fun facts and features, and homework help for kids. From the solar system to the world economy to educational games, Fact Monster has the info. kids are seeking. The site is COPPA and kidSAFE-certified, so you can rest assured it's a safe place for kids to explore.
  • Mathscore.com (K-12)- helps students acquire a deep understanding of math by providing adaptive math practice that functions like self-guided lessons. MathScore is fun, but the real magic is the improved confidence and grittiness that MathScore instills.
  • Xtramath.org (K-8) - XtraMath helps students transition from counting or calculating the basic math facts to recalling them. Quickly recalling math facts, instead of calculating them, frees up mental resources for higher-level operations. XtraMath's timed activities encourage students to answer questions as quickly as possible. When combined with the spaced repetition of problems, this efficiently develops recall. The three-second threshold is carefully selected to be long enough to type in a recalled answer but not long enough for the student to comfortably calculated the answer. Students should have already learned the basic counting or calculating strategies and solve the problems without time pressure before starting to practice an operation with XtraMath. A wide range of lessons (Kindergarten through Eighth-grade level) enables learning or review to occur at each individual's current level.
  • Freckle Education (K-9) - Allows kids to practice math at their own level and pace. Has more than 30,000 math questions, starting with a diagnostic that assigns material at just the right level.   • GregTangMath.com- (K-6) GregTangMath strives to provide unparalleled math lessons for students as well as professional development for in-service teachers. Games, puzzles, and other resources, like free downloads, worksheets/word problems, math centers. cost: Free 
  • Illuminations (PreK-12) This site, from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), features complete lesson plans, mobile games for students, interactive activities, and brain teasers. cost: Free
  • Illustrative Math (6-8) High-quality educational resources for teachers and students. Excellent math tasks, videos, lesson plans, and problem-based curriculum modules. cost: Free

  • CueThink (K-12) This National Science Foundation-funded program helps students strengthen math skills, inspires a growth mindset, and encourages critical thinking. Students will learn to solve problems and explain their thinking using mathematician George Polya's four-step approach. 
  • You Cubed - Provides excellent videos, articles, and activities by Professor Jo Boaler from Stanford University. Check out the section of activities!
  • Khan Academy- Videos to teach both students and parents math concepts and algorithms
  • Learn Zillion- Videos to teach both students and parents math concepts and algorithms.
  • Math Before Bed- Each prompt on this site shows you and your child a perplexing problem. Sometimes there is one correct answer and sometimes there are many right answers. The purpose of each question is to generate a discussion about HOW you determined a solution. If you find one answer, try to find another. You could complete one prompt a night or many prompts.
  • Mathletics- Parents can create a personal account for students to use. We no longer have a school-wide subscription. However, it is a great way to practice grade-level standards and computation, both timed and untimed.
  • Mathigon- Filled with activities and resources that are highly engaging and show how much fun math can be!
  • Would You Rather Math- Whichever option you choose, justify your reasoning with mathematics. These are great activities to do as a family!
  • Estimation180- Is a math talk page that presents you with a visual to make predictions about.
  • Which One Doesn't Belong- a website dedicated to providing thought-provoking puzzles for math teachers and students alike. There are no answers provided as there are many different, correct ways of choosing which one doesn't belong.
  • eMathInstruction (8-12)-This site provides e-textbooks, answer keys, video lessons, and printables for students and teachers of algebra 1 and 2, geometry, and trigonometry. cost: $
  • Istation (TK-8)-Istation makes personalized learning easy with computer-adaptive instruction, assessments, personalized data profiles, and teacher resources. Istation includes digital lessons and face-to-face teaching strategies. Grades: PreK-8.
  • SumDog (K-5)-Math games that make learning fun! Engaging, evidence-based, adaptive learning. Focus on specific skills, target interventions, and make assessment easy. cost: Free trial; $ subscription

  • Dragon Box (K-6) -An award-winning series of math apps that harness the power of digital tools to create a better, deeper, more fun learning experience. Blogs, such as "Making Math Social" and "Saying No to Math Anxiety," are included as resources for teachers and parents. Cost: Free trial
  • GeometryPad (2-12)- Loved by teachers and students.This Android and iOS app are designed to help users to better understand geometry, allowing them to take measurements and to create different geometric shapes. It takes an abstract topic and makes it much more easily understandable through its simple visuals.
  • Prodigy Game (1-8), Prodigy Game is available for free on iOS, Android and web platforms. Teachers love this game-based learning program because it allows them to use games in classroom and for homework assessment projects and make learning a fun activity.The app offers built-in diagnostic test which generates real-time reports on students' progress and helps teachers identify their strengths and weaknesses.
  • CK12 (CK-12) pairs high-quality content with latest technology. A free app, available on Android, iPhone or iPad, Windows 8 or 10 and web platforms, The interactive learning activities it offers include adaptive practice, PLIX, and simulations.High School students would love its BrainGenie section while those who specifically want to develop their Algebra Proficiency and Higher Mathematics skills should delve into its FlexMath section.
  • Colorado's PhET (K-12) Colorado's University PhET simulations project is quite popular as a classroom tool in advanced Maths and Science teachers. The animated illustrations can easily be incorporated into lectures and homework assignments to help students understand specific concepts easily. PhET app is available for $0.99 for Android and iPhone/iPad users, K-12 students can access it. PhET simulations online, External link for free to study mathematical concepts like Projectile Motion, Calculus Grapher, and Arithmetic. 
  •  Photomath (All grades) Available for free on both Android and iOS platforms, Photomath allows you to snap a picture of the math problem and get its step-by-step solution! From basic arithmetic to fractions to trigonometry to linear and quadratic equations, it can help you with a lot of Math problems quite easily. While a good teacher will certainly never allow you to use this app in a classroom, teachers recommend it as a study support tool that students can use at home. Other similar free apps that you might want to try their Mathway and Socratic.

Math Virtual Manipulatives are a great way to enhance at-home learning. Simply drag the manipulatives into position to see math concepts come alive!

A Three-Act Task is a whole-group mathematics task consisting of three distinct parts: an engaging and perplexing Act One, which is information and solution-seeking. READING ROCKETS

Reading Rockets is a national multimedia project that offers a wealth of research-based reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better. The reading resources assist parents, teachers, and other educators in helping readers build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.

FCRR STUDENT CENTER ACTIVITIES

From 2004 to 2010, a team of researchers and teachers at Florida Center for Reading Research collected ideas and created Student Center Activities for use in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms. The activities are designed for students to practice, demonstrate, and extend their learning of what has already been taught, sometimes with teacher assistance and sometimes independently. Students can complete the activities in small groups, pairs, or individually.
